I only recently learned that it's called "The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures" as opposed to "Adventure" (singular). I also learned that the Japanese and Korean versions have a whole mode called Navi Trackers (or Tetra's Trackers) that they wanted to include in the US version and showed at E3 2003 but couldn't, probably because they didn't feel like dubbing it. See, it's not only fully voice-acted but it has a name input and it can read your name. This game has so much voice acting. Every option in every menu is voice-acted. The cast of Wind Waker talks so much. I've been idling on the name entry screen and Tetra's said like six unique voice lines at me
There exists a Riivolution patch for the Japanese version, straight porting the official translations on the other two modes and also constructing a lot of an English translation for Tetra's Trackers's text. It's actually decently easy to play like this, I mostly figured it out. I took a look at the files and it looks like the actual process of replacing the audio files would be the easy part, it's just raw audio. Of course, if someone wanted to actually produce any type of English patch for this game, they would still have to transcribe every single audio file (2800, not counting the "your name" ones), translate them, and dub them.... It would be a massive undertaking........ Either that, or somehow adding subtitles. The game doesn't have any. Sad
I've been thinking about this cool game a lot lately. I wanna play it with other people sometime but Tingle is fun to play with too. It was originally built off the idea for a SNES game called マーヴェラス ~もうひとつの宝島~ (or Marvelous: Another Treasure Island) and had characters from that game but became Wind Waker-themed instead. Have a picture of that version from the files, as a parting gift
