What are some things you like to do outside of music?

... This is actually kind of a difficult question lol. I spend a majority of my time doing music-related shit. I guess I'd say most of my non-music hobbies are just spending time doing things with my friends. Right now that's spending time on call watching and playing stuff but after I move I'm gonna go places and spend irl time with the people I'm moving to be closer to. I've been wanting to get back into Twitch streaming for a bit, but I haven't had the strength of will to do so and also this might be too music-adjacent because I plan to DJ and make beats on stream in addition to playing games lol. Uhh... Sometimes I play games, watch streams, and/or listen to podcast instead of music. I've been making some custom Godgame cards to play with folks. I like to cook sometimes. I wanna draw more, and maybe make some videos. Tough question!

The thing to understand is that the only thing that rivals how much I love and am passionate about music is how much I love and am passionate about my friends. I struggled like "well outside of listening to music or making it, I've been going through on my DJ software and marking the major points on each song-- wait, that probably doesn't count, uhh... I think about the Song of Today-- wait shit, uhhhh.... Well I like to mod songs into Smash Ultimate-- fuck, UHHHHHHH"

I'm normal

How long have you been making music for? What got you into it to begin with?

I've been around music my whole life tbh! My parents are both musicians, some of my first memories were singing with my parents' band for the closing song because everyone thought it was cute. Music was always one of my favorite things in the whole world. I started messing around with Making it myself in like 2012, using Sony Acid for some reason. I switched to FL Studio in either 2013 or 2014 and I've been getting stronger ever since, but not quite strong enough for Ableton which has scared and confused me every time I try it lol. I had only recently at the time gotten into rap music, but I started by making rap beats and it's still one of the things I'm best at

Anonymous User asked:

what are some of your fave game osts from 2023? (or stuff you first got into in 2023)

I'm glad you asked about game soundtracks specifically because I listen to those way more than I actually play video games lmao

  • I feel like Bomb Rush Cyberfunk is kind of an obvious one. That shit's good. I'm glad 2 Mello got a song in the game, I was very pleasantly surprised that Dom McLennon from BrockHampton and knxwledge got in, and I learned about everyone else lol. I'm also pretty happy for SkyBlew! I remember when he first hit the scene and got signed to Mega Ran's label in like 2013 I think, that's crazy that "Light Switch" got into this game. Good for him
  • As much as I ended up souring on Tears of the Kingdom itself, the music in that game is still pretty good. I always liked Breath of the Wild's piano ambience, so more of it is nice. For how short it is, I adore the Skyview Tower Launch theme. It made me tear up on first listen, and I was sad when I heard it for the last time
  • I didn't like learning that the Pizza Tower dev was kind of a shithead but the music still hits. I found out after the game came out that one of the composers and I were on a DESKPOP compilation together like six months before the game came out and I consequently became aware of it, which is neat
  • I liked the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster soundtracks overall but felt a little disappointed about VI because the opera and Dancing Mad don't land for me when nearly everything else and those are like the most important ones, but also they're extremely difficult and I've resigned myself to just doing it myself one day lol. There doesn't exist a version of those songs that I feel is Just Right, and it's my problem
  • Yu Suzuki's Latest Masterpiece Air Twister was freed from Apple Arcade so I get to tell you to listen to that game's wild Valensia soundtrack
  • I generally like the Super Mario RPG remastered soundtrack (they nailed "And My Name's Booster" imo) but they changed one of the notes in the melody of "Hello Happy Kingdom" from an F to a G and it piss me off forever
  • Street Fighter 6's good songs are very good. A bunch of the stage themes are pretty good, and the Battle Hub lobby theme is an instant classic. Also the cover of the TMNT theme made me laugh really hard

As for things I got into... My friends have successfully got me playing Fortnite lol. I also watched Bocchi The Rock, Iron Chef, and Pokémon Horizons. Also I'm sorry for how much griping about minor things I ended up doing in this post lol, I generally like things so much that the few complaints stick out in my mind easier even though the whole rest of it is good. I've been meaning to get to the music on games like Mario Wonder, Hi-Fi Rush, and Knuckle Sandwich but I haven't yet

Attached is a demonstration of the unfortunate change to "Hello Happy Kingdom", with me playing the original melody followed by the new one. I hate it forever and it makes me fucking sick
