BIGFAKE

My idea for giving Real Value to having multiple subscriptions to Cohost Plus: As it is, people who aren't subscribed have an upload limit of 5 MB, while Cohost Plus subscribers have an upload limit of 10 MB. I think that each additional subscription should get you an additional 5 MB. I have no idea if this is doable but I tell you what, if I had disposable income I'd strongly consider doubling up on a Cohost Plus sub because I make so many mp3s that're bigger than 10 MB but smaller than 15

I'm glad Cohost got their money! This is my favorite website to Actually Use, and I hope they succeed. I'm also glad nothing too bad happened to their funder since they're not only still on good terms with staff but also able and willing to give more money. That said, I do still worry about the long-term health of the site. I read that long-ass post about every financial report in order (as well as looking at the reports myself) and I won't share it because it's unnecessarily mean and also doesn't cover the newest update because it was written before that, but actually looking at what staff says with the financial reports, seeing how the reporting changes over time, what gets counted some months but not others, how they sometimes fuck up the numbers or outright lose them… There are more months without solid financial reporting than there are months with, and that's crazytown. I'm glad the website gets another six months at least, but I don't believe we're out of the woods. I hope they can get Eggbux done before they have to "we're almost out of money" a third time, and I want the site to live on. Also the financial reports should get pinned to the side of the website like the patch notes are

Tangential: I actually took a solid look at fedi instances for the first time. It turns out that there's a new thing called Sharkey, which is a fork of Misskey with new features, that being a fork of Mastodon with new features. Not a lot of people use it tho, their biggest instance has just under 2000 people and the second biggest instance has like 950. However, that second biggest instance is named lethallava.land, and if I signed up for it I would be BIGFAKE@lethallava.land. I mostly still think fedi shit is stupid but that's damn tempting (as is its sister instance on Mastodon, where I would be BIGFAKE@wetdry.world)

I greatly enjoy that there are prominent fedi instances named wetdry.world (Mastodon) and lethallava.land (Sharkey)
