There's just one thing that's bothering me... Y'know, DJing has always struck me as a fascinating line of work. Now me, I don't like to mess with my records much, I'm happy to just stick one onto the old Victrola and let it run through. How a guy like DJ Premier spins 'em around like that and makes it sound like anything, I can barely wrap my head around it. But nowadays, they got these digital turntables that you can use on personal computers, you don't need a vinyl record at all! Now a lot of these DJs will have two separate turntables and a mixer, but my nephew just recently bought himself a machine that had all of it in one box, called it a "DJ controller", and he told me something funny. He said that this model right here, the one the victim used, the DDJ-1000, is only compatible with Rekordbox, which is the manufacturer's own software, and that he didn't get it because he uses Serato. But you mentioned that on the night of the murder, the victim was messing around with acapellas and stems and things like that, and it struck me as curious. Y'see, Rekordbox doesn't have the functionality to split a song up like that, I guess their engineers haven't figured it out yet, but Serato recently added it into a beta release of their software. I'm sure you know that already as someone who uses Serato, I just thought it was odd.

Look around you! The passage of time has made every word you've said false! Rekordbox rolled out stems functionality a scant month after the original post went up, and their parent company acquired Serato in its entirety! Now one can simply MIDI map stems functionality on to the DDJ-1000 as they please! Why, the very medium we speak in will be wiped away as sand on a beach by the end of the year! Time has made a fool of you, lieutenant!
