Songs of Departing
I've made it a thing that whenever I leave Kentucky for a long time, I put this album on and relax and think about my journey, eventually maybe taking a little nap. So far that's been two bus trips and a plane ride, but the final plane ride out is coming up in two weeks and I won't be returning this time. This album, Dream Songs, is essentially a Greatest Hits album by Joe Hisaishi, the composer for many Studio Ghibli films. There are new and fresh arrangements of every old song, and some original compositions too. This album has the Ghibli songs you know, but it also has a bunch of songs he wrote for Takeshi Kitano movies and some other ones too. I think it's a lovely album. The entire thing is in that YouTube playlist, and if you listen to it then I hope you like it.
