As someone who is into fashion dolls I want to add some fun info.

Poopsie surprise came out during a time where fashion dolls had fallen off in popularity. The original generation of Monster High had ended, and nothing else really had a big impact or stuck around for more than 1 or 2 releases. It was mostly a time of child legal gambling addictions blind boxes via LOL Surprise (also MGA) and Shopkins.

However, following Poopsie Surprises... popularity??? MGA released Poopsie Rainbow Surprise, which started as a blind box fashion doll (see left). Later releases were just normal fashion dolls without the "surprise" element. This later on morphed to become Rainbow High (see right), which is its own thing separate from Poopsie. Rainbow High (along with LOL OMG) is currently MGA's biggest selling fashion doll, and has brought a lot of old collectors back along with bringing new collectors into the fandom. So like... thanks Poopsie I guess?

fwiw my understanding is that "parody" is only meant to protect riffing on something in order to specifically make fun of the source material, not simply remixing it in a way that's funny. so my guess is that they'll have a hard time making a case here that their advertising song is somehow commentary about the original
