or at least don't inspire me. when they do, they tend to lead to samey poems that don't feel particularly good and don't make me feel like i learned something about the form.
the last two writing prompts I've liked were as follows:
- a friend sent me a prompt she found while touring a school in Britain: "write a poem in which the words kill each other".
- a friend told me the echolalia "how to milk a cow with only your mind and hands".
