unfortunately, I think this technique (or device?) may be beyond me. I can see how two contradictory statements might make a numinous together when both are true; "this is so, this is not so." But I can't see how to apply that to political statements or to defuse an argument between two people. Not asking you to necessarily walk me through it but just wanted to say this might be a level past my own
