anyway misc thoughts on ariana grande's "god is a woman" for no reason (reason: because it played nonstop at work today and it was my first time hearing it and i dug it)
- it is afflicted by the Hallelujah Effect (i.e. "this song that is on its face about Christianity is actually also or even mostly about other things like sex and ppl dont appreciate it")
- it also has the Second Order Hallelujah Effect (i.e. "no ok its not just about sex either it is about existing as a politicized body and shit. and you know what, yeah it is about God still, don't toss that out like a bright-eyed child watching a Game Theory vid and deciding Phineas Flynn is the demiurge")
- literally not to compare anything i moderately enjoy to like the only movie i like but. if you like: "God is a woman." you will love: the "Now we think as we fuck" scene in Marlon Riggs' "Tongues Untied". i love to make media into being about the fraughtness of being a politicized body
- i rlly like her descants. thats like the ariana grande Thing right is those really high descants. she makes a good vowel imo
