when i was 12, my stepdad brought me in to "bring your kid to work" day at his job, and to show me what he did, he had me write a marketing article about what a businessman could learn from minecraft. apparently it became the single highest viewed article on their site. learning that something a 12 year old shat out in 15 minutes under heavy protest could do nearly twice as good as stuff written by actual professional marketers was probably the first real formative moment for my political beliefs in retrospect
