3-0s: --Gruul wherein i first-picked phyrexian engine and wheeled gaea's mights, and therefore used the power of multiplication to do the thing i associate with gw this format --Golgari wherein I again played "put the +1/+1 counters on the cards with text". played three argothian sprites and quite frankly wouldve played the fourth. --Grixis draw two, featuring triple Evangel and Phyrexian Processor --Rakdos Corrupt control wherein I sat around until I drew lethal off two of the three Corrupts in the deck.
2-1s: --Boros aggro deck which prospered despite having like two 2-drops, off the back of two Fallajis (the gold uncommon) --A sick Dimir control deck built around Keening Stone that lost only to a deck playing 3 (three) of the GW uncommon. did i mention that i literally have not seen a copy of that card in nine drafts. im not salty --Rakdos sacdos, which attempted to be the Thraxodemon deck but in practice mostly dunked on people with 3/2 leapers
Failures: --a simic deck that was entirely a misdraft; fought over contested colors and tried to do the ramp thing. it failed --a blue-based deck where i tried to draft a deck with a proper instant-speed package, except i ended up with wayy too many counterspells and also made some really silly raredrafts.
it's still too early to tell but i think the criticism that "bad format because aggro too good for 8 drops" is mostly people who are first picking burnished hart because it works great in their korvold deck (totally a 7)
