what is gay food? that is up to you, but i want to hear your explanations. also, if you want a challenge, you have to pick something that isn't phallic or fish tacos. expand the realm of queer cuisine!
here's what i think is a gay food: kiddie cocktails or suicides or whatever you like to call them where you mix a bunch of drinks from the soda fountain into one cup and swirl them around. together they become something weird and new, but if you concentrate you can taste each individual soda as you drink. a swig of mountain dew can turn into a swig of rc just by thinking about it, and i think that is really cool and gay to be so fluid, so many things at once, at once the sum of your parts and more
whenever i get a "normal looking" employee meal with like two toppings i have a manager who asks if i'm sick. perhaps that's queerautistic maximalism. perhaps a combination of comfort in my body and an inability to care if i'm being judged. or perhaps it's that i'm feeding three (rather than two) bodies and want to stretch my free food to do so. whatever the case, it's one of the many tiny unimportant things about me that, against the odds, however goofy it may seem, is inseparable from my queer life
