The brewery with the best vibes is differential, sister (the bar) is a good place for shows, if that’s your thing, and surprisingly good food if the kitchen’s open. Do you like hiking? If you want to do 7 miles or so, hiking La luz trail is beautiful, and you can take the tram down from the top of the Sandia mountains afterwards. There’s plenty of other good places for shorter hikes, too. Mountains on one side of town, volcanos and petroglyphs on the other. Rio grande cuts through the center of the city, and people like walking down there too, in the bosque. As far as food goes, I’d say there’s not much haute cuisine to speak of, but plenty of great, inexpensive options. I’d try to get a breakfast burrito from a different place each day you’re here, if you can swing it. The shop is a nice breakfast/lunch spot.

Loyola's is a family favorite. snag a pack of biscochitos from a Garcia's if you get a chance! Little Bear Coffee gets a lot of hype for good coffee but it's got private equity stank on it. imo you won't go wrong as long as you dodge chains and try somethin' new with chile on it every day.
