explorer/pioneer is a good format actually.
even the big dumb monogreen deck has combo turns (and in pioneer, literal infinite combos with lots of moving pieces)
UW control feels good and full of good ol' control tuning arguments (stop putting three Make Disappear in your decks, it's a shit card, put 0-1 depending on if you're open decklist, there is nothing wrong with Censor aaaaa)
Greasefang is a legit false-tempo style combo deck that gets to play the most lesbian rat i have ever seen, and also a deck that makes me go "Shit, I can't just cast RIP turn 2 and turn off their deck" from the control side
And on the fringe side of things... yeah sex is good but have you ever drawn your deck turn 3? there's like two or three decks that can do that (I'm partial to 3-color Song of Creation, and now that we have Mana Confluence and Springleaf Drum I'm trying out 4-color)
why the hell was i playing standard. ooh you can play grixis, or you can play grixis with evelyn, or you can play a deck that has 0.55 vs grixis and 0.2 vs everything else with perfect play
