The idea of a "musical language" that you could play on an instrument is appealing. It's extreme conlangerbait in the best possible way, something a lot of people independently converge on. The thing that makes it especially conlangerbait is that the original musical language solresol is not great.

Some critics chide the "conseq" community for making up consequences, arguing that they could devote their time to making resources for "natural" sequences from OEIS. Indeed, at the time of writing, Duolingo offers a popular course on memorizing Conway's "See-And-Say" consequence, but nothing for Sequence A001622 (the decimal expansion of phi).
