I feel like properly learning css and javascript would let me make some absolutely horrifying stuff on this website,, but I'm already putting effort into getting better at fucking C++ and fortran and I'm not sure I should exhaust myself more lol
one thing that's driving me mad is how by default, C/++ passes copies of arguments to functions.
it can lead to all sorts of issues if you're not aware of the implicit copying, and for any larger variable you have to explicitly use pointers to avoid it. not to mention that changing an input variable is pretty useful considering you can only return one value.
fortran somehow manages to be significantly more intuitive by passing arguments via reference automatically, and you explicitly state if they're mutable. fucking fortran.
