Second, stop reading now because I’m about to be annoyingly pedantic, but all those stars are also outside the solar system 😶🌫️
I actually forgot I got a crappy photo of The Pleiades before, which is outside of the solar system, too. Though I was writing this up at 1AM after spending about 2 hours in my driveway with the telescope. "Deep sky" might have been a better term, oh well.
Well with Andromeda you can say "outside the galaxy" which is genuinely pretty cool. And yeah, I think "deep sky object" is the general term for "it's not in the solar system and it's also not just a single star".
Either way, my pedantry is empty, because I 100% applaud this image and envy any attempt to do the sort of photography that I'd love to attempt but lack the time/lifestyle for.
