Here's a little demon guy with way too many eyes. They're a commission for a classmate who wanted both a cute and creepy demon creature. I made a few concepts before asking him and then we mixed them up to end up with the final sketch for the creature.
The process was a little different than my other commissions. Usually, they all work with the same base so I can use the pattern I made for my animal plushes, but here, since the shape is different, I had to freehand (almost) everything. If I had to do it again I would probably change a few things, especially the shape of the head. I think it could look way better, but I'm still pretty happy with the result.
I'm especially happy with the eyes. I've already tried on another plush to make painted eyes, but acrylic doesn't work that well. Here I used 2 coats of red nail polish, then painted the iris with acrylic paint, and then added another coat of clear nail polish. I think next time I'll use nail polish for the iris too. I'm just disappointed because I feel like they can be scratched pretty easily, but it's the best look for painted eyes I've been able to achieve so far.
