fwiw that language is in there as another guard against ban evasion. there isn’t actually a real name policy and never will be
can y'all amend that in some way to be more clear on that point? i get that it's useful to have it in legal terms, but it'd be nice to have the formal language align more closely with the intention of it
yeah, we agree that it's weird and bad, and we just e-mailed our lawyer to ask if we can strike that clause, or if it's got some necessary purpose. will let you know in a staff post when we hear back!
follow-up: she says we're all good to strike it. I'll start working on the change now, and I'll post from @staff when it's official!
