the key beats of the main quest are there, but there are still several sidequests and NPCs to add, so it will probably get significantly bigger (read: more disorganized)

I probably should be saving this for when I publish the game or something, but I'm really happy with how this little prologue scene is coming together, so I had to share it!

ty! <3

I'm making it for GBA - I'm using a handmade engine I've been noodling on for a while + an assortment of other tools: Tiled for maps, Aseprite for art, Twine for dialogue, etc.

most of the tiles are ones I borrowed from my previous bitsy games tho >:D

hahaha yeahh what can I say, I just like / am familiar with 1.4.2

I had no idea about .twee support in Twine 2 though - that's neat! that's definitely a big thing that's kept me on Twine 1

thanks paige!! glad you like it :D

it's not made in bitsy, but i have been re-using a bunch of tiles and sprites i've made for bitsy games over the years, which definitely gives it a "bitsy-ish" look

i'm actually making this game for GBA using an engine i've been making for this project :)

That's super cool!

I wondered if perhaps what I think of as Bitsy style is actually Adam LDX style! Reusing assets is such a good feeling when it makes sense to do so

I'm curious, have you worked on GBA before or is this your first project for it? I'd love to give GBA dev a try myself someday

Best of luck to you with your target date!

thank you, i'll take all the luck i can! >:D

maybe the bitsy style started out as my style, but i think honestly by now i've learned so much and been so influenced by how others have used the engine that it's the reverse and the bitsyfolk style has transformed my style more than the other way around haha

yeah GBA programming is super fun imo! i actually took a class in college years ago where we did some work with the system, so it's not my first time! but i did kind of have to relearn everything for this go around...

if you're looking for resources, i found these tutorials super helpful to get me started again: http://kylehalladay.com/blog/tutorial/gba/2017/03/28/GBA-By-Example-1.html
