computers are bad, and so was this website


i'm rereading john carmack's 1996 internet post that basically lays the technical foundation for how internet multiplayer games still work today and i want to share this tidbit out of context because if you pretend it's not about a videogame the mad scientist vibes are fucking exquisite

There are a lot of issues that that brings up. Time is no longer advancing uniformly for all objects in the world, which can cause a lot of problems.
