So if you go to the website of Gaslamp Games (the ones who at the time made Dungeons of Dredmor) you are greeted with a mysterious popup that let's you sign up for a mailing list. This is completely new, and the assets even say 2023!
If you don't know what Dungeons of Dredmor is, it is definitely worth checking out, it's available on Steam. What I most admired about Dredmor was not only it's cheesy, goofy sense of humor that was expertly woven into the gameplay, but also how accesible it made the Roguelike genre. The devs were super lucky being "in the right place at the right time" and got their game on Steam in the very nascent indie-game times of 2011.
If you're even further curious about the game's history, some of the people involved are even on Cohost it looks like? They might have a super secret non-dredmor-disclosure-agreement about whatever mysterious event is coming, though. I remember having a pleasant conversation with one of the artists elsewhere. There's also all sorts of blog posts and videos around where people recount their experiences making the game.
(honestly I'm kind of jealous cause I've been wanting to try and make a "remake", or at least something in the same goofy style. In my usual solo indie game-dev fashion I made a bunch of art assets in a big passionate stint but lost all steam when I ran into issues programming.)
