hi hello hi it's bobbles

  • she, ...

a terrible gremlin with anxiety and more adhd than god. you might know me from that other place ... maybe

.

.

.

please be normal to me. not like normal in general just like. ya know? yeah

i will acquire a normal computer like a normal person and learn to do normal person computer things in normal ways

and i'm pretty sure, or at least hoping, that this will cause me to feel less entirely vaguely alienated from contemporary society, or like at least the weird freak corner of contemporary society i hang out in

but it's so scary tho i haven't used OS X since like 2010 or windows since like 2008 and change is terrifying ooooops

fingers crossed i will get on the make very normal things less terrifying pills and they will work and be tolerable but like also i should learn to change things up independent of that especially given *gestures at the nebulous future*

in reply to @bobbi's post:

macOS is still fairly similar to 2010 tbh, Apple released the iPad and then stopped caring about the Mac for like a decade for better or worse, is now paying attention to it again, again for better or worse. honestly they might be just about to chase after the VR headset and forget about the Mac again for another few years

Windows 8 happened tho so I don't really recommend that side of things. Win11 actually kinda settled down, but it's definitely not familiar IMO

yeah i mean my impression is os x is still broadly similar to how it was i just haven't touched it in maybe 13 years so i don't have any muscle memory or anything

win11 i'd be starting Entirely from scratch with and end up probably in wsl a lot so it's hard to say whether that's better or worse. probably gonna kick that decision down the road a while tho
