Bust-up portraits from Guilty Gear: The Missing Link (Arc System Works, PlayStation, 1998). The layout is based on the Player Select screen, though I put the unlockable boss row on the bottom rather than on top. I also included Testament's wounded portrait from the story, since I happened to see it sitting in the VRAM with the others~

This was around the time SNK were adding extra colour depth to graphics like these by separating them into two or more "layers," each of which could be assigned its own 16-colour palette. But these here are made the honest way, so to speak, with just 16 colours to each portrait. Each one is a 112x112 square, including the white border and another, transparent 1-pixel border on each edge (in other words, the white square and everything in it is only 110x110). I spaced and aligned them to account for this, because I mind the details~

Except for boss characters and characters who have died, everyone here has returned for each new game in the series, though some of them look quite different these days. . . You could consider them the core of Guilty Gear. ❤
