on a practical level, i can understand why whip vaporizers aren't talked about much anymore. people are rightly dubious about inhaling through plastic (i got silicone tubing for mine). figuring out what to do with the whip when you're done is a bit of a hassle and takes up a lot of space since you generally don't want to fold or crimp the hose. the hose can be a challenge to clean, and can discolor over time. silicone tubing is a magnet for pet hair, which can look and feel a bit yucky when handling.
on a pure vibes-driven level however, there's nothing that feels quite as decadent as taking hits from a whip while laying down in bed like you're in a hookah lounge or something, taking idle sips, turning up the heat as you go until you're well and truly launched into space or otherwise settled into a nice buzz with leftovers in the bowl for the next time. it's great and feels really comforting, a damn good session vape that stays warm as long as you need it to
box vapes just have a lot of charm to them and sometimes you just gotta have a funky little box with a dial on the front that makes your weed hot enough to inhale without setting it on fire until you find yourself totally smacked (or right where you need to be)
