Friday, March 1, at 7 PM Pacific, I will live-stream the Macintosh Plus Guided Tour. The one with the audio tape.

(This time with the right floppy disk!)

You will learn:

  • How to start up a Macintosh
  • How to use a mouse
  • What “windows” and “icons” and “applications” are
  • How to navigate folders to find your documents

Most of these CD-ROMs are on the Macintosh Garden: http://macintoshgarden.org/apps/nautilus-magazine-index-page

(This list is incomplete. You can help by expanding it.)

There's some interesting Mac software on some of the early issues, including beta versions of HyperCard 2.0 and ResEdit 2.0 that I hadn't seen before.

Last time went a bit better—we got the Harp, or at least half of it. (Which, as Victor noted, at least means the object has been Neutralized.)

Tonight, I'll be playing the fourth and final game, the one that finally departs from the “edu” part of “edutainment” for good. We head into our future, the Curator's past, to retrieve… the Cyberplasm Formula! https://twitch.tv/boredzo

Edit: Done!

Last week, I tried and failed to rescue the Last Dinosaur Egg. We didn't even get to meet Delta Mode!

Saturday evening, I'll tackle the third of the four games: “The Hypnotic Harp”, in which Victor Vector and Yondo go to Ancient Rome and try to wrest the titular harp from the clutches of the Emperor Nero.

Let's hope for less pixel-hunting this time: https://twitch.tv/boredzo

(And if you want to see the rest of the second game, I did eventually find a YouTube playthrough that filled in what I had been missing. There's also one for the third game, so this time I'll have a walkthrough to consult if I get stuck again.)
