Someday I'll wake up and find that I was only ever a sea otter dreaming of humanity. I'll look around the wide ocean as the last remnants of this world flutter away from me like swarming moths, and I'll see you there, sleeping next to me, paw in paw.
I think this is what heaven is like if you've lived a good life. Just, waking up as a little creature and knowing that humanity was never real. Knowing that it was all just a bad dream. Knowing that you're safe.
