i think they do it for vertical aspect ratio short videos. the point is they have an entirely different and evil interface full of rusted nails and venomous horses and i already get my horse venom elsewhere. i have a guy. several actually
I have a firefox extension that automatically redirects shorts to normal videos (you can do it by just changing the URL) and it has improved my life massively
