update: listening back now, it is not a very good recording lol. not awful tho! better than i feared. learning a lot. such as: set the levels higher. and bring a stand for it so i can put the mic higher than the audience. i just asked the FOH person if i could put it on the ledge of the mixer which was well below the audience head line so this is a very audience heavy recording and the music itself is very room sound-y. much to consider. but!! i was the only one i saw recording and this was maybe the best mountain goats show ive been to yet so im very glad i did it!
update 2: apparently there was a second sound guy who was not the one i asked if i could record cause they picked my recorder up after i set it back down for the second encore and said "next time ask before you record" into it lol. motherfucker i did ask
so next time i guess make sure its the same foh person before setting it back down and ask again otehrwise
