Eric S. Raymond took it over and showed just how goddamned unhinged he can be. The Something Awful goons attempted to actually fork and salvage the thing but ESR got his cronies to put an end to it :/
I mean the previous fork attempts kind of petered out but there's nothing stopping anyone from doing it again, assuming there was any interest. At this point unfortunately it seems like JARGON.TXT's use-by date is long past.
Every time I learn something new about computing history it's like "welp, the fascism definitely wasn't what drew me to engage with that person's work, but I can't say I'm surprised anymore. Sigh..."
