the weather has been more appropriate for april lately. on my walk today there was sun, clouds, light rain and light hail. I was visiting the boys and then walking in the fields a bit.

I recently learned that the reason that one smaller field has so many wildflowers on it is because they have been sown there. on that day, I was looking at the flowers with my friends and a guy came driving by in his SUV and started talking to us. turns out he was the farmer. he wanted to know if we were from some government agency checking on the field. then he started explaining about it. I don't remember whether they're having the wildflower field because of a law requiring it or because they get subsidies for it, it was one of those reasons. I find it funny that when you stand around somewhere here for long enough, sometimes a guy will come up to you and explain stuff to you just like that.

Your post bring a wonderful whimsical feel to my timeline!

From where I'm from, if some guy drove up to me while I was checking out a field, I'd probably be in imminent danger, or at least threatened.

It's soothing to know not all places (cough texas cough) are like that.

I'm sorry that it's like that at your place. we do have far right assholes here but they usually don't have a gun, or if they do they usually don't carry it. we also don't usually have people go quite as wild over "trespassing". those two things do a lot to make me feel safe-ish in the outside world. I think it's horrible how assholes can make people like us feel unsafe and deny us simple joys such as looking at a plant outside. I hope it won't always be like that.
