i was working for a long time on creating a decent epub for stone butch blues. i could have knocked it out in a particularly long weekend but i couldnt focus long enough to do more than a bit at a time so it had become a long term 1 year(+) long project. i had posted about it as i did it and earlier this year someone found one of those posts to thank me for doing it. i was slightly confused and it turned out that apparently someone else finished doing it before i could because theres now a fantastic epub that didnt exist when i last checked a month or so earlier. im very very very happy theres a good epub now (fuck yes and also please fucking god stop releasing ebooks as pdfs and only pdfs. at least make a fucking epub) but i think im gonna keep working on mine because going through and cleaning up shitty ocr output is a very interesting way to read a text. you have to pay a whole lot more attention to every single word by necessity and its fascinating what you notice that you otherwise wouldnt
