It's interesting to compare this from 2003, with Microsoft's OS teams making technical decisions to protect users from exploitative UX patterns, with the current state of Windows 10/11 constantly nagging to:
- Set up a Microsoft Account
- Use Edge instead of a good browser (ie Firefox)
- Use Cortana
And of course the constant ads in the Start Menu that there's no fucking way to disable at all.
There's a reason I only boot into Windows for Destiny 2.
