one of my fondest memories was going to a show and striking up a nice conversation about the finer points of root beer with the bands drummer because we both fuckin loved the root beer the venue sold (abitas)

guess i know what root beer im picking up next. never actually had an alcoholic root beer which now that i think about it kinda surprises me. ive missed an entire genre

and naturally fermented ginger beer is so easy that I just do it in a 2L plastic bottle

ive been known to ferment a cider here and there by just throwing some fresh apple peels into a thing of unfiltered apple juice for a few days then letting it sit

yeah, for ginger beer it's 'grind/chop ginger, put in with simple syrup, water, and champagne yeast'

the saddest day of my line cook career was when the restaurant replaced the local small brewer soda company that had a really nice birch beer that I would steal from the to go bottle fridge with Virgils (although I did get a reeds ginger beer t shirt out of it)
