After reading The Thursday Murder Club this year (which is brilliant and everyone should read it), I decided that I wanted to read more "cozy murder mysteries." I picked this up recently on a whim. I hated it.
There will be minor spoilers, but I will not reveal whodunnit. Not that I recommend you read it.
Finished Dragon Age 2. It's... not half as great as Origins. I need to look up what happened. I've heard it had a troubled development cycle and it shows. The game is quite buggy, which grew very tiresome by the end. I wouldn't be surprised if the bugs in this game are why we haven't had a Legendary Edition of the trilogy like we got for Mass Effect.
I'm a good ways into Dragon Age 2. Having fun with it. But boy, this game is depressing! I feel like the developers said, "Alright, we did a good job giving players tragic backstories in Origins. But we really want to make the saddest boi possible in DA2."
The man is a great filmmaker and seems very bright. But the idea of California and Texas being the state's that team up against the US government is deeply silly. Maybe it's explained in a sensible way in the film, but the trailer doesn't sell me on the concept.
