Hello again Cohost.
I figure this is a new platform and I've always spent my life being a jack of all trades, master of none, so kind of doing a quick rundown of my internet footprint might be fun. I've been on the Internet for a loooong time.
First of all, as the dorky kid I was sophomore year of high school lurking around the GameFAQs forums I inevitably started by writing game walkthroughs for such hit games as Sonic Adventure 2 and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4, but also a ton of trash games like Chameleon Twist and those old online games no one remembers like Well of Souls. From there I also moved on to writing some real cringe-worthy reviews. This writing does not hold up and it's a little embarrassing how many hits some of these guides have gained over the past decades.
Most of the reviews I pulled down, but somehow a few of them have still survived over at https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/community/braktheman/contributions
After that I moved on to my Flash animation arc - most of which has been scrubbed from the net at this point. I did make one flash movie that picked up some traction when the cohost of the Tom Green Show blogged about it on his LiveJournal for some reason... it was a weird time.
I dabbled in some map creation in Unreal Tournament 2K4, but nothing very creative - it was mostly just me recreating fy_iceworld from Counter-Strike which turns out is an awful idea for an Unreal paced map.
At this point, I messed around with a lot of midi creation and started a band called Rage Against the String Cheese. Maybe this stuff exists somewhere on the internet, but it's all pretty boring. Do not recommend searching for any of it.
Around this time I also got real into making websites in notepad and eventually went to school for it (in which I dropped out eventually for many reasons). Sometimes I miss raw coding in HTML but the industry is so different now that I don't even know what I would make a website for in current times.
The late 00s are when I began messing around with speedrunning through racing and learned about livestreaming on UStream and Justin. I played a lot of Mario 64 16 star during this time. I was not good.
Fast forward to the early 2010s and I started a daily blog where I played a random game from my Steam library for an hour and wrote a few thousands words on it every single day. This ended up being a fun project but also a huge mistake cause paired with a full time job it burnt me out so incredibly fast. About 5 months after starting, this got abandoned, but still remains on my blog to this day. I do not know if any of this writing holds up.
Once I gave up on that, I started streaming much more often and honestly the period of Twitch streaming from 2013-2014 were my absolute favorite times of content creation. Things were done on the fly, they were experimentative, and I did not give a fuck how things were received. My content was just made to make myself laugh. I lost most of this era of VODs and it makes me a little sad because I would go back and watch some of these to remember what made it so exciting.
After that, things took a rough turn in my life and I entered a solid depression arc until 2019. There were a few resparks of creative energy, but mostly I did absolutely nothing.
Currently what most people probably know me for in the modern times was I streamed the entire N64 library over the course of 2 years. This was a lot of fun and had some good memories attached to it. I'm currently in the process of archiving slightly edited versions of these VODs over on my YouTube channel.
From there, I got my creative energy back and I made a really terrible game in the first half of 2022. It was a Yahtzee clone called Satan's Shakers where you play against the cheating Satan in a battle for your soul. I'm not at all proud of this game, but I'm very proud that I started it and finished it. I learned a lot about myself and my work drive during this period. You can try this game at
or read about my experience making it at
There are also other blog posts there about a failed experiment or two along the way.
So that brings us to now. A new depression arc has started and 2023 has truly been the year of health issues on top of it, but I'm now here figuring out where I go next. Ready for the next creative adventure. I'm currently trying to dip my toes back in to programming in hopes of doing a game jam later this year so I can have that experience, but I'm not sure if that's where I'll stick.
This cohost hopefully will be a place where I can share some of these ideas and experiments. I've given up on the aptly named X where I used to have an alt account that I used as an outlet for this kind of stuff, but this site honestly seems like a better spot for long form anyways. I've never been great at fulfilling my promises, but here is to a solid attempt. If you made it this far, congrats. This was a lot of text.
