Print outs from Planet Namek dot com, the ultimate source for inconsistently translated Dragon Ball minutiae and made-up power levels.

i remember people ending friendships over arguments about power levels

a funny part of rewatching it a few years back is that 'power levels' are just employed as a fun dramatic shorthand to get characters to the same location and hype up a fight, especially in the saiyan & frieza sagas when everyone's wearing scouters, but anime teens approached them like a sacred taxonomy

my favorite detail is when they get new, more powerful scouters to keep up with the power levels because the weaker ones kept dramatically exploding, and then those more powerful scouters dramatically exploded too

people criticize power levels an awful lot, but occasionally i catch a glimpse of the kinds of arguments today's anime teens have about which character is stronger in Jujutsu Kaisen and I gotta say, that shit being a number made it real easy to get the point across
