I've looked over the tallies and I'm going one big shade of hm🤔 over here. Judging from my reading progress this year I can reasonably expect about 52 books in a year. I haven't yet taken back all the library books, but I feel I need to in order to truly go about reading through my own shelves. Starting next year? Yes, I think that'll do.

If I can hit that 52 count or close to it — very feasible, given the range of this year's smallest book was 36 pages to it's largest book being 612 pages — with the amount of books left unread on my own shelves I would have about two and a half years to get through it all. Hm! Will this knowledge stop me from continuing to add to this pile practically every other week? Of course not. But I have a start! And that is what counts!

(I am also allowing myself the wonderful ability to "ehhh fuck it" and stop reading a thing if I'm not feeling it. I think most everything currently waiting to be read is of actual interest to me and wasn't picked up just because of a good deal or because of a snazzy cover design, BUT... if it isn't gonna' enrich my week, it's gone.)

Graphs by way of http://thestorygraph.com - it's a fine alternative to Goodreads, as it lets me cut out that much more Amazon from my online existence and I can still tag and export stuff as needed.
