In 2009 we randomly stumbled into this part-chinese-restaurant-part-dive-bar. I had just moved to Seattle 5 months prior, a christian-raised, wide-eyed, dumbass kid. The drinks were stiff. Christmas lights adorned the trim in April. An elderly couple started dancing to a jukebox song. They waltzed over to our table.
"It's our anniversary," they said.
People move, relationships change, but every year I always find myself clawing together a small group of lunatics to go revisit our tore-up old booth and have a rum & coke. We saw it in April of this year!
Who could've guessed that would be the last time I ever saw it.
