Realizing my stamina-pips system for combat in Chronicles was really only perfect for the handful of cases I designed and completely falls apart once you have more than like 2 stamina.
The whole thing was pretty intricately balanced so tugging on it makes me feel like it has to unravel. Need to basically rethink stamina recovery with a new set of goals. Feels like a pretty big step back but back to the drawing board.
This has been stressing me out a ton and has been on my mind constantly. I did manage to come up with a new set of rules today that solves the issues with the old system and still hits the existing goals without changing too much of the overall design.
Whether or not it scales into the future remains yet to be seen.
It's at least enough to get back to work on new combat actions so that's a relief 😮💨
