I sometimes like working on never-to-be-finished video game projects

Right now I'm making a game called Chronicles.

Wanna make a game? Here is a list of great C++ libraries to use.

I maintain a Letterboxd in much the way that I assume people maintain bonsai trees.

The last few days I've been experimenting a lot with how to present the HUD in my game. Been talking with my friend Kyle sometimes about stuff like aspect ratios and how some games present info like this. He was showing me some cool old PC-98 games where the gameplay area would be presented as a window inside of a persistent HUD and we both think stuff like that is really fun.

I am in no way capable of creating some amazing artistically elaborate frame around my game like some of those old classics so I've been trying to play to my "strengths" (incredibly simple stuff haha). Thanks to Kyle as well for drawing up a couple ideas for me and offering his opinions.

Anyway, this is sort of a draft that I hope to build off of as I continue making the game. But I'll consider it "good enough" for now. Though I will take some time to put the current turn number in the bottom right corner. Also, when there's dialogue, a dialogue box will switch in temporarily where the info at the bottom is.

I appreciate it, but I'm trying to make everything in this game myself. Especially with the art, I'm trying to get better at it so I want to make sure I'm doing it and improving. Is there anything in particular about it that seems goofy to you?
