Actually managed to get gitlab installed and running off the laptop in my office. Feels pretty crazy to be self hosting a full-fledged git server with all the bells and whistles for $0/mo

请别在工作死🌸I sometimes like working on never-to-be-finished video game projects
Right now I'm making a game called Chronicles.
Wanna make a game? Here is a list of great C++ libraries to use.
I maintain a Letterboxd in much the way that I assume people maintain bonsai trees.

TBH I much prefer gitea. Easier to manage, and by far not as much of a gigantic hog as gitlab.
I saw gitea mentioned in a few other places and it definitely looks better, will probably switch to it now that I understand how all this hosting stuff works 🙌
So sorry I forgot to respond! I never wound up using it for holding onto my main project, but I have been using it a lot for posting snippets to link to people and I honestly really enjoy having it for that! There was some issue with ports and docker containers that made SSH authentication not work that I could not figure out and eventually I stopped futzing with it.
And currently the entire site is down because I got a new router and haven't spent the 3 hours I need to sit down and re-figure out all the port forwarding nonsense to get it back up and visible again
Thanks, this is just the sort of thing I was looking for. This sounds like about what I'd expect
Food for thought as I consider future plans!
