I sometimes like working on never-to-be-finished video game projects

Right now I'm making a game called Chronicles.

Wanna make a game? Here is a list of great C++ libraries to use.

I maintain a Letterboxd in much the way that I assume people maintain bonsai trees.

With INDIE INTERVIEWS, I talk to the game developers hanging here on Cohost to learn more about new games you might love.

There's something satisfying about a throwback done right. The past decade or two has given us plenty of fun games that are reminiscent of the NES and SNES days, but something I've noticed lately is that we seem to be in a renaissance of people nailing the Gameboy Color type of vibe. One such game is Chico and the Magic Orchards by @daikon-games! Not only do you solve puzzles in a magical world with a fun little guy, you can also unlock new color palettes to toggle and even change the screen borders to tailor your experience. I talked with Nick of Daikon Games to learn more about it!

Chico and the Magic Orchards is out now on Steam and itch.io! His other game, Song of Asirra, is available on itch.io!

Introduce yourself for everyone here on Cohost! Who are you?

Hi all! My name is Nick. I'm a software engineer by day, but I'm passionate about game development in my free time. I publish my stuff under the label Daikon Games!

Is there a project you're working on currently? Tell us about it!

I'm currently wrapping up development on a free expansion for Chico and the Magic Orchards, but I have plans for lots of games after that. After a year working on Chico I'm definitely excited to get into something completely different again.
