I sometimes like working on never-to-be-finished video game projects

Right now I'm making a game called Chronicles.

Wanna make a game? Here is a list of great C++ libraries to use.

I maintain a Letterboxd in much the way that I assume people maintain bonsai trees.

Is literally screaming about how fucking good it is the second you pick it up no matter how long it's been.

is shaking my confidence that I was ever any good at this game

I guess I should start practicing with more survival builds but I never learned how to use a shield lmao

Edit: 8 runs tonight never made it past promenade, feeling really defeated :(

Just like every time they've touched that game since early access it has gotten better.

  • Stat scaling used to be this complicated thing where you needed to read a guide to figure out the right balance to not becoming underpowered and now it's just dump all your points into the main color because that's all anyone wants to do is make the numbers go up
  • Practice areas let you practice bosses so you don't have to do entire runs to get another chance to try them
  • Aspects are huge buffs that prevent you from progressing but make grinding cells and farming blueprints a lot less arduous and they're fun!
  • DLC in games usually add endgame content that is for when you've beaten everything else, but all the DLC in this adds alternative variety to different phases of the run and they can all be enjoyed immediately on a fresh save.
  • Custom and Assist Modes just let you change all aspects of the game to the difficulty level you're comfortable with because hey maybe as long as people are playing your game maybe it doesn't matter whether or not everyone's facing the same difficulty.

It just feels so goddamned good to play and every time I die I want to just hit play again
