one might ask me "heather flowers, why does your pixel art look like ass? you clearly have the skills to make good-looking art, so why do you choose to make bad art instead?" to which i would reply "the worse a game looks, the more of it there can be"
if i can make 10 things look 100% pretty or 100 things look 50% pretty i'm aiming for the latter... hitting 50% pretty is sooooo much easier than hitting 100%
With my new game I've been doing less animation so I can do more animations
(simpler animations including some that are just single sprites so there can be more variety in animations)
