Created Frogsong! Working on a secret new game!

Hey guys! I wanted to to mirror this post I originally wrote for a Kickstarter update here. I'm really excited about how the Switch port is coming along!
We're hoping to be able to announce a release date in the near future. In the meantime, I wanted to talk a bit about a feature of the Switch I've been having a lot of fun working with - HD Rumble!
Most controllers come with rumble. A game can make your controller vibrate, and it's a fun little way of almost physically experiencing the world of the game. Of course, there's only one way for the controller to vibrate. If you blow up a bomb, your controller vibrates. If you get hurt, your controller vibrates. It's all the same. This is what makes the Switch's HD Rumble exciting to me... you can do so much more with it! It's so precise and varied that you can add a lot of texture and character to individual rumbles... everything can feel different! You can make really subtle vibrations too, so rumbles aren't just for intense experiences. It's been a really unique experience to work with, because I have to think of the physical, tactile experience of being the player. How does it physically feel to be a tiny frog, opening a little clay pot full of copper beads?
Unfortunately, of course, this isn't really something I can easily share over the internet. The best I can do is share a gif of little moments where rumbles might play and ask you to imagine it.

Are you imagining? Okay, cool. Neat, right?
All in all, it's been really fun to work with. It almost feels like I can reach down and touch this little world I've created.
So what's next after the Switch port is out?
Next stop is the Digital Art Book. If you weren't able to pick it up during the Kickstarter, it'll be available to purchase on Steam and itch.io after it's done! If you enjoyed the game, this book will be a nice little peek behind the scenes, so I recommend checking it out.
Once that's out... it'll be finally time to work on my next big project! I've been prototyping something new in my spare since Frogsong's launch, and I'm really looking forward to sharing more with you all in 2024.
