taking a very intentional break from splatoon for a bit. the past couple of weeks i've tried to dial back gameplay because of some... tenseness? in my right index finger, but i think i just need to take a break break.

what's likely is i need to be more intentional about holding my controller. i'm not sure if it's pressing ZR or R that's causing the issue, but one of those is hyperextending the extensor tendon a bit. i'm hoping a few day's rest and adjustments to my finger positions will help!

it's hard taking a break from a game that i'm really enjoying, but ultimately all i'm going to miss is a salmon run rotation or two, but my health is very important and i want to prioritize it so i can keep playing this game! this will also be a good opportunity to work on my single player game backlog. ::)

in reply to @brookehorse's post:

i've thought about splinting it at night, during the day isn't really an option just cause of how much i use my right index, but honestly just taking a break from the main stressor has made it a lot better

it's been surprisingly hard! i've had multiple times where i almost go to play and then have to stop myself

it does help that some of my friends that i usually play with aren't around to play this week
