hronse: i went to find a tiny picture of willoh to put here and wow did the image search give me a lot of vorny art instead of anything cute. need a willoh pog face emoji now
personally i have always thought that the grimm horses are like. goth versions of the same species as willoh? but it's hard to be sure.
i did some research thanks to the wiki and the wanderer's journal
the grimm horses are called "grimmsteeds" in the files, which like. turbo bug horse
the wiki says they may be the same species as willoh? but provides no source for this (although yeah the grimmsteeds look almost exactly like willoh but with grimm... facepaint?? idk if that's facepaint or natural markings but they look like the markings of all of the grimm troupe members)
there is a developer AMA where they say that willoh's design was based on a "giraffe beetle"
i am wondering if the grimmsteeds are sentient like willoh? you can't talk to them, but they also don't make sounds like the novices/masters/nightmares

i'm with you on yes. also i googled giraffe beetle and it's literally willoh without a mask. (do you feel giraffes have the horse nature? it's not a topic i have expertise in.)

it could go either way i think? like on vibes alone giraffes are kinda just horses with longer legs, looooonger neck, spots, and a slightly different tail
but personally i'm gonna go with no, just cause i don't see a giraffe and go "oh my god i want to pet that snooter"
their dreamnail dialog is wordy enough for us to think they likely are sentient.
