Concept: Survival horror game where the entire structure of the game is turning on progressively bigger generators to unlock the area behind which lies the fuel/key/missing part for the next generator, culminating in the player switching on a nuclear reactor

Weirdly enough, my favorite generator restarting is Disco Elysium, and I think part of that is how rusty and busted that place feels.
No shiny brand new sci-fi reactors, not even a mysteriously well preserved lost ancient tech ruin, these should be essentially scraps.
Players will get mad how many are "basically another steam engine", but realism.
