It's definitely for the best that the Paladin oaths in Baldur's Gate 3 don't force you to play 'lawful stupid' and allow you to, for example, lie to the game's various villains in order to progress quests without having to immediately fight everybody. But also it's extremely silly that apparently if I attack a guard in the prison of the evil lair that's considered oathbreaking, but if I have Astarion backstab a guard to aggro them and then throw that same guard into a chasm, that's not oathbreaking.
